About Dom

I have spent the last 15 years juggling careers in education publishing, expedition leadership and safety training.  It has involved a careful balancing act of dreams of expedition travel, a love of climbing, walking and the outdoors and the the realities of life – and the later has definitely come off worse.  I’ve run an adventure travel and expedition training business and lived in the sometimes sunny Lake District.  I am currently living in London and  studying for a masters in Environmental Technology – my aim to move into a career in which I can finally combine my passion for the natural world, a desire to help conserve it and my skills in project management, education and training.

Nothing beats the Alps in the sun

AN UPDATE…

I finished that masters back in 2015 and since then I’ve… got married, moved to Scotland (Glasgow to be precise), had two children and worked at the fantastic TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) for seven years and counting where I am now an Assistant Operations Director.  I’m also Landscape and Conservation Director for Mountaineering Scotland and the convener of the Glasgow National Park City group.  Maybe soon I’ll start writing this blog again!
